COMMUNICATION REHABILITATION THROUGH HEARING AIDS

Hearing loss can slowly develop over several years-
so subtly that family and friends notice before you do. They may complain that the television is too loud, or that you don’t hear the phone or doorbell ringing. Or, they are frustrated because they constantly have to repeat themselves. Communication is deteriorating, and you may not even know it! Gradually, frustration and fear of communicating causes you to withdraw from people and activities you normally enjoy. What can you do to get back in touch with the people and activities that you love?

Communication Rehabilitation must take place
Your brain must receive vital speech and environmental signals. Your brain must also “relearn” to identify speech and safety sounds. Of course, recognizing you have a hearing loss is the first step toward improving your communication. (Don’t worry, you’re in great company... over TWO million new cases of hearing impairment are reported annually, from age 1 - 100.) The next, and most important step, is using amplification, or hearing aids.

Hearing aids are not going to restore perfect hearing.
That is totally unrealistic. But what IS realistic is that hearing aids will help improve communication and safety.

Hearing aids are available in various sizes -
from styles that fit behind the ear to tiny sizes that hide completely in the ear canal. They are available with different options and technology-from linear technology to digital technology. Hearing aids will vary in price, allowing you to improve your communication and stay within your budget.
